When Ray and Donna Densmore set up shop in their Old Mystic home in 1949, they understood the true value of a family-owned and operated business. Densmore’s legacy is continued by their granddaughter Jamie, and the business is now a woman-owned company that has been in the same family for three generations.
Jamie attended the University of Connecticut for her bachelor’s degree and Northeastern University for her master’s degree (she’s a husky for life!). Upon graduating with her master’s degree, she accepted a position in the private sector, where she focused on individual training and development in addition to further developing her own personal leadership style. After that, Jamie returned home to work in her family’s business, Densmore Oil, and lead the company into the next generation. Jamie is now the third-generation owner of Densmore Oil. In addition to her professional responsibilities, Jamie enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering at and supporting many local organizations. Jamie is a board member for the Mystic and Noank Library and was previously a Board Member for GOSA. In June 2021, Jamie and her husband Zac welcomed their first child, Donovan, the fourth generation of Densmore Oil.

Our community service extends far and wide. Giving back to the community that we serve remains a pillar of the way we do business. In the past seven decades, Densmore Oil Company and the Densmore family have donated over $25,000 a year to local charities, youth sports teams, local hospitals, community associations, and the Stonington High School scholarship fund.

Annual Toy Drive
Every summer, we host an annual toy drive for Safe Futures, with the goal of collecting new and gently used toys to donate to little ones who are less fortunate. With your help, our team collects toys, school supplies, craft items, and more to donate. Safe Futures voices their appreciation for our support each year. Safe Futures is extremely appreciative of our company’s and customers’ support.
Annual Holiday Food Drive
Every holiday season, with the support of our customers and community, we fill a service van with donations of nonperishable goods to help our neighbors in need! All donations are given to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center and Groton Human Services to create food baskets, which they hand out to local families prior to the winter holidays.
Our Military Discount
Are you part of the US military? If so, we invite you to take advantage of our military discount, which offers all active military and veterans 4¢ off each gallon of heating fuel ordered from Densmore.
